What We Believe

We believe that:

God is. He has always existed and created everything. He is one God in three persons,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He desires a personal relationship with each individual.
(Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; John 1:1-3; 2 Corinthians 13:14;
Hebrews 11:6; Revelation 4:8, 11)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God became fully man through his virgin birth while continuing to
be fully God. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for sin, rose
again on the third day conquering death, ascended into heaven to intercede for those who
believe in Him and will return for his people and will also return to earth to establish his
kingdom. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1, 14; Romans 1:2-4, 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2
Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22, 3:18; 1 John 3:5)

The Holy Spirit is active in the world convicting people of their sins and drawing them to
belief in the life giving, relationship restoring, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He
lives in each believer, guiding, instructing, admonishing, encouraging and empowering them for godly living. (John 14:16-17, 26, 16:7-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; Galatians 5:22-23)

The Bible is God’s communication to mankind, written by men selected and directed by
God. It is the factual story of mankind’s sin, separating us from God, and God’s plan to
provide a way for us to restore our broken relationship with Him. It is the final authority in
all matters of Christian life and our understanding of God. (Mathew 5:18; John 10:35;
Romans 3:23, 5:8; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20,21)

Everyone was created by God with characteristics of God (intellect, freedom of will,
emotions and awareness of God) but became alienated from God through sin. Each
individual will live forever, after Jesus Christ returns, either in God’s kingdom (heaven) if
they accepted his free gift of forgiveness for sin or completely separated from God in torment (hell) if they did not accept his free gift. (Genesis 1:27; John 3:3-5, 36; Romans 3:10, 23, 5:12, 19; Titus 3:4-7)
